Walking in the rain - Ed's journal
Walking in the rain
I rather like walking in the rain. Having the right combination of clothes to keep warm and dry, and most especially a hat, because I dislike the rain on my face stops it being inconvenient.
But from there, I like the way the streets clear. I like the sound of the rain, and most especially that rich and fresh smell that comes from all the plants. Especially the trees - the scent that just seems to be a joyous announcement of life. And the water washing away some of the day to day grime and grit.

At least, up until a passing bus drives rapidly though a puddle and soaks you. It quickly stops being so pleasant when you get cold and wet.

Kenilworth Road, Fletchhampstead Highway,Charter Avenue - 4.2 miles.

Canley level crossing is the same distance, and up past sainsburies is about half a mile further

Can you not cut through Canley Ford?

It seems I probably can. Doesn't save much distance but should be a nicer walk.
