Well, I'm back from Iceland. Got in nice and late, 23:00 or so on Sunday. It was great fun. Reykjavik nightlife is quite impressive, even if the weather was 'less than clement'.
Large amounts of hardcore EVE geekery at fanfest, which I'll filter :).
The real 'news piece' for those that haven't heard yet, is that CCP Games (makes of EVE) are merging with White Wolf. Yes, the same White Wolf that does Vampire, Werewolf, Exalted etc.
Basically they did a Collectable card game quite recently, and realised that there was potential. EVE itself is actually quite conducive to roleplaying (you're playing a character who's controlling a ship and doing stuff, by controlling a ship and doing stuff). However it also has quite an impressive array of 'backplot': http://www.eve-online.com/background/ if you're interested. Or http://www.eve-online.com/races/saccade/ for the latest 'short story'.
The initial plans involve CCP working towards a World of Darkness MMO, and White Wolf looking at an EVE RPG. (Although they haven't really started on either yet).
