Went to see The Libertine last night.

Wasn't what I expected. Yet again, Johnny Depp shows off his acting ability. The film is a mix of frivolous and dark, and I think has to have the best 'introduction' I've seen in quite some time. Seemed a little disjoint in places, but never the less, fairly immersive.

It definitely gets a mention for one of the most ... interesting ... opening sequences I've seen. It also mentions that it 'contains strong language'. It's not joking, but it's not especially gratuitious. (After all, one of the 'motivations' of the lead character is debauchery, at least initially).

More art than action, but nevertheless a well wrought film.

I wrote an essay on Lord Rochester during my delightful English degree. I picked him to write about because he sounded an interesting chap, but I didn't much like his poetry and the essay sucked. It was, quite possibly, the worst essay I've every written. Oh well.

Is there lots of naked Johnny Depp?

There's actually not a great deal of nudity at all. There's a few 'naked person' shots, but I don't think there's all that much of the illustrious Mr. Depp. There's a few scenes where he's 'talking dirty and getting it on' though...
