It's not what you know, it's who you know
Well, that's made my day.

One of my work mates is installing Checkpoint firewall on a Sparc machine.
Unfortunately, it doesn't run if you're using the 64 bit kernel.

As resident Solaris guru, he came to see me to ask how to do this rather strange thing.
It rang a few memory bells, and so I responsded "I'm sure I've done it, give me a minute and I'll figure out how.".

Quick tappy tappy into google, and I the first post I find is on Sun Managers, explaining how to do this very thing, for this very purpose. (Changing the solaris kernel to 32bit mode, to install checkpoint firewall).

Written by me in 2002.

My work mate looked at me strangely when I collapsed in hysterics.

I LOVE this!

The feeling of "who was that smartie who inhabited this body 3 years ago?"

That's... it has good and bad sides. You should have given the guy a ration of shit because he didn't google it himself, and finding your article. XD

Is that the kind of thing that could earn you a second t-shirt? :)
