Virtual Mondays
Hmm, another virtual monday.
I think I may have mentioned it before, but I hate mondays.
Virtual or Otherwise.

Anyway, this weekend was SINergy, which was nice. Kinda worked, but I ended up doing a little more 'winging' it than usual. I don't think having the lurgy helped matters none, but that's how it goes. (Although it did mean we had easy phys-reps for plague victims ;p)

The discussion Andrew and I had regarding structure for the evening, eg. a 'session' plot, I think worked pretty well. Of course, I think we need to come up with new ideas in that vein, but the first attempt worked, I think.

Well, Andrew's did. Mine ended a little earlier than intended, which wasn't entirely unexpected. I had kind of hoped that someone would realise and capitalise on the potential there. And I did get to (indirectly) shoot ehrine which made it all worthwhile :).

The look on Faust's face when the 'seller' handed him a small thermonuclear device was priceless. I think it's unlikely, but I do so hope someone got a picture ;p.

Yesterday I popped to Brentford for an interview, for technical pre-sales.
After about 20 minutes discussion of the role, I think we both came to the conclusion that pre-sales really wasn't what I wanted to be doing, so we spent the remainder havin' a nice little chat about the 'state of the market'. Nice chap, and was worth the trip, but basically, despite the 'technical' in the title, the role really isn't. What it means, is that you're a specific deceitful bastard salesperson rather than a general one.

Depressingly, the drive to Brentford, even including London at rush hour was still cheaper than the train (I put in £32 of petrol in the tank. This included the 70 odd mile round trip to leicester. I took oliver with me on the way there. By train it'd have been £29 or so _each_). It was also faster. 2hrs 30 mins or so, with a side trip to High Wycombe on the way, and a stop at a service station for a wank coffee and snack on the way back.

Yesterday morning, I also received my Shark Tank T-Shirt, for my submission. Which is nice.

I'm also getting the usual 'plea for stats' that heralds the start of the month. The email I got went:
"Ed

can you do the monthly availability stats pls.

Chris

I need the internet availability figure pls.

Thanks
Philip"

Now I hate to be a grammar nazi, (Actually, that's a lie. I love it) but really. I know this guy it associated with the Helldesk, but couldn't he at least pretend to have some literacy skills?

Furrfu.

Oh, and there's a new BOFH episode.

Congrats on the article - of course being a seinor manager who likes documentation I was offended...but I'll get over it ;)

And thanks for the link to BOFH - I've been a fan for a long time and missed it ;)

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of documentation in it's proper place. I'm firmly of the opinion though that there's some stuff that is sufficiently trivial that you should either know it, or not be messing with it.

Sensible as you always are ;)

Plus well - you really can't document everything - besides which - lots of things can be found in knowledge bases already online which is a better place for things like this.

SIN this month did seem a lot more organised and less headless-chickeny than the previous few months. Congrats.
Not sure if it was because there was more to do, or just less agressive music or due to me NPC'ing a fair bit, but everyone did seem reasonably more involved/chatty than recent sessions too.
Plus it seems there are a fair few people who have plotty type ideas, which could be nice.
All it needs now is a few more refs and double/triple attendance ;)

of course we never have a camera around for Fausts face.. its a realy pain.. cos it means we loose the magic like when that missile was delivered to him that session

I ended up with that, too. Maybe I should just ignore him...
